Obviously, if you're fascinated with
rapid prototyping like we are at Klein Concepts you know
the payback and effectiveness it can provide in the manufacturing
world today. In today's fast paced world the supplier
who moves the fastest usually wins. A few years ago a
typical supplier who was involved in the automotive industry
could spend many weeks providing the first samples. The
typical time line would include the part design (1 week),
mold design (1 week), manufacturing of the mold (4-6 weeks)
and the first production run (1 week). This process could
total up to 9 weeks! Today, with selective laser sintering
(SLS) technology available you could put the part in your
customer's hand in less than 2 weeks!!! One of the fascinating
advantages of SLS technology is that you can produce parts
that are impossible to produce with typical molding available
today. For instance, please notice the spiral staircase
in the castle below.
Klein Concepts will only supply duraform samples produced
on a DTM SLS machine. Some examples of duraform samples
are shown below. Klein Concepts can design your parts
if you do not have the resources to do so. If you already
have your parts designed and want a rapid prototype of
your design, we will need to receive your files in STL,
